Proper Watering: Ensuring Healthy Growth for Trees

Correct watering techniques ensure trees receive adequate moisture deep within the soil, fostering strong root growth and enhancing resilience. This method supports the tree’s overall health, improves drought resistance, and increases longevity and vitality.

Key to Watering: Reaching the Roots

Deep watering techniques help in establishing a robust root system for both new and transplanted trees, leading to improved health, increased drought resistance, and better overall growth performance.

Treeswell’s tree bags are engineered to slowly and consistently deliver water to the deep roots, ensuring the root system of trees receives the hydration needed for healthy growth and development, offering a sustainable solution for effective deep watering.

Understanding Tree Water Needs

Calculating the right amount of water for trees depends on their size and environment. A general rule is to apply 10 gallons of water for each inch of trunk diameter.

Our Treeswell tree bags are designed to facilitate weekly watering, delivering the precise amount of water needed for trees to thrive.

Treeswell Water Bag Installation Instructions

Install Treeswell’s Water Bag in minutes: encircle the tree, fasten with the zipper, fill with water, and witness healthier tree growth

1.

Position the bag’s rear side against the tree’s trunk, ensuring zippers are on the side facing uphill.

Encircle the trunk with the bag and connect the ends using the zipper, pulling from the bottom to the top.

2.

Access the filling port by lifting the tag at the bag’s peak.

Place a hose (up to 3 inches wide) into the opening, start the water, and begin to fill the bag to about 1/4 full, then move to the next step.

3.

Carefully elevate the black straps at the top to spread the bag’s bottom fully.

  • Avoid using the black straps to hang the bag.
  • Optionally, mix in water-soluble fertilizers or nutrients.

4.

Fill the Treeswell Water bag to the needed level and allow it to empty, which will take around 5 to 9 hours.

  • Adhere to a watering schedule that suits the size of your tree.
  • After the bag empties, detach it from the tree, relocate to a new tree to refill, or store it for later use.

Watering Frequency & Capacity Chart

For optimal hydration, refer to our Watering Frequency & Capacity Chart, which aligns the Treeswell TPO Bag water volume (gallons) with the tree caliper and bag setup. The guideline recommends using 10 gallons per inch of tree diameter to ensure deep, thorough watering, supporting healthy tree growth.
